COVID-19, flu, and RSV are respiratory illnesses that cause hospitalizations in Mesa County every year. Our disease surveillance team tracks respiratory illness hospitalizations to gauge the severity of each illness as it spreads through the community.

On Oct. 7, Mesa County released the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget during the administrative public hearing. The proposed budget outlined priorities that strengthen infrastructure, invest in employees and prepare for the future.

A contract was approved between Mesa County and FCI Constructors, Inc., during the Sept. 30 public hearing for FCI Constructors, Inc. to serve as the construction manager and general contractor for the Mesa County Justice Center North Addition Project for $3.7 million.
