What services are available to my family?
Adolescent services available
Here is a list of types of services provided through Mesa County Department of Human Services. Please note that not every service listed may be available to you and your family. At some point you will be asked by your case manager or mental health worker to provide input about the services you believe you and your family need. Your case manager will work with you to get your family services. Please browse the list and contact your case manager with any questions you may have.
Services
- Advocates for Parents and Children, TJob Coaches, TRecreation Programs
- Day Care, TRespite Care, TSummer Programs for Children
- Tracking Services (an adult checks in at school or home usually on teenagers to ensure they are performing their responsibilities).
There are a number of drug and alcohol services available, so please ask your case manager for more details. Below are some of the community based services.
- Adolescent Group - Assessments - Antabuse monitoring
- Evaluations - Breathalyzer tests - Outpatient Treatment
- Relapse Prevention Group - Urine Analysis - In-patient Treatment
- Detox - Groups for children who have a substance abusing parent(s)
Family Preservation services are designed to prevent the removal of children from their homes, or to return children who are in out of home placement back to their homes.
- Family Therapy, Parenting Groups, Victims of Sexual Abuse Groups-
- Supervised Visitation (if your children are in care, this may be part of the visitation plan for you to see your children).
- Home Based Services (a therapist or case manager may work with your family on parenting issues in your own home).
- Life Skills (learn about budgeting, cleaning or cooking routines and other household tasks).
- Play therapy (for children), TGroup Therapy, TIndividual Treatment
- Anger Management - "Psychological" evaluations
- Domestic Violence Counseling - "Psychiatric" evaluations - Community based
- Medication Monitoring
- Acute Residential (a place for children or adults to temporarily reside while receiving treatment for mental health issues). Community based.
